Hey, it’s great to have you here! My name is Verena and I help people on their journey towards a balanced, energizing Blue Zone lifestyle – with greater well-being, inner balance, personal fulfilment and a healthy work-life integration.
Yoga has been an integral part of my life for over 25 years. What began as a physical practice became a profound transformation – towards greater self-love, mindfulness and a clear awareness of the connection between body, mind and soul. Yoga has not only led me to the mat, but also to myself.
In 2010, I completed my first yoga teacher training course at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills, for example in anatomically informed adjustments (physical and verbal), therapeutic bodywork, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, pranayama, philosophy and the Blue Zone lifestyle.
The Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Manju P. Jois, the son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, had a particular influence on me. From him, I learnt the traditional practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – with precise hands-on adjustments, pranayama, mantras and a thorough understanding of the Ashtanga system. My teacher Danny Paradise also had a profound influence on me and my teaching style, taking it beyond the traditional Ashtanga system – freer, more inspired, more creative, more open.
A key part of my professional development has been my training as a Thai Nuad practitioner at the renowned ITM (International Training Massage) School in Chiang Mai. This therapeutic form of bodywork has won me over with its lasting, profound effects. Thai Nuad releases tension, regulates energy flow and helps to release both physical and emotional blockages. When combined with yoga, it creates a powerful space for regeneration, clarity and vitality. I am constantly furthering my training in this field and learning new techniques with great passion and curiosity.
In addition to my training in bodywork, I qualified as a certified mental and communication trainer. This knowledge enables me to support people not only physically but also mentally. After all, real change happens where awareness, action and inner attitude work together.
For me, a holistic approach is not just a trend, but a matter of course. After all, body, mind and spirit always work together – and that is precisely where I step in. I help my clients to consciously channel their energy, strengthen their resilience and shape their lives, relationships and well-being from within their own inner strength.
I have been living on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sardinia with my partner Harald for several years now. Together, we founded Surya Sardinia – a place where yoga, body and soulwork, and the principles of a healthy, sustainable Blue Zone lifestyle are naturally connected.
That’s where there is room for real transformation. Not higher, faster, further – but more mindful, more clear, and more empowered.
