We are equipped with guest yoga mats, blocks, belts, blankets and meditation cushions. If you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it as well as a small sweat towel and a mat pad or large towel (especially in the hot months).
Bring something to write for reflection, journaling and exercises (pad or notebook and pen).
It’s handy to carry enough cash as the nearest ATM is about 10 minutes away by car.
Packing list:
During a retreat we recommend that you fully engage with the programme and the effects of all the exercises which also means renouncing or at least limiting smoking and alcohol. The “clearer” you are during the programme the more you get out of it personally, physically and mentally.
You take a whole week just for yourself and invest time in the most valuable thing you have: YOURSELF! Enjoy the “dolce far niente”, take time to switch off, reflect, rest, be “lazy”, relax, let go. Get involved in the experiment and switch off – yes, maybe even your smartphone or tablet. Bring a good book instead.
Resting times during a retreat are between 10pm-7am to give all participants the opportunity for proper sleep & rest. We kindly ask you to respect this.
The natural park “Parco di Sette Fratelli” with various hiking routes is located directly behind us. You can reach the capital city of Cagliari and the popular holiday town Villasimius in around 30 to 40 minutes by car.
Public bus connections are available but they do not operate frequently and tend to take a long time (a car is therefore advisable).
Excursions like hikes, boat or cultural trips can be organized through our partners depending on interest, capacity, weather & season.
Our “house” beach is a good 10-minute walk away and ideal for a refreshment in between or early in the morning.
A highlight within walking distance is the bay “Baia Azzurra” which can be reached from our house across the macchia a in a mini-hike of 30 minutes. The beach is beautiful, there are sandy sections, a wooden pier and it is great for snorkelling.
You can read more about this on our website on the LOCATION & ARRIVAL page.
Depending on availability all rooms can be booked as single occupancy. Please let us know your request when you make your booking.
If you travel alone and would like to share your room we will try to find you a roommate of the same gender (depending on availability).
Breakfast will be served in the form of a brunch and is vegetarian: muesli & porridge, homemade bread & cakes, various spreads, butter & cheese, fruit, tea, coffee, chocolate, etc. will be served depending to the itinerary after the morning session.
Dinner with Italian and other vegetarian delicacies, salads, soups, fruit or dessert and tea.
During the day there is tea and fruits available upon request.
You can drink our tab water (don’t forget to bring a drinking bottle)
Transfers:
If you are not travelling by car we help organising transfers from Cagliari to us (airport or centre). Cost depending on the number of passengers and season between € 30,- and € 80,- per trip (according to the current status). Please let us know the arrival time and pick-up location (airport or centre) a few days before and we will help to organise group transfers to make it cheaper for everyone.
Rental car:
We recommend arriving with your own car or taking a rental car as this allows you to be more independent and see the beautiful beaches and spots in the surrounding area. Sardinia is so colorful and there is so much to see. (z.B. https://www.sicilybycar.it/en)
Usually retreat participants get together and share a car or drive to the beaches together. Otherwise transportation can also be organised locally.
Your stay:
You are welcome to arrive earlier or extend your stay depending on availability. If we are already full we are in a partner network of accommodation in Sardinia and have lots of good recommendations all over the island – feel free to ask!
You can read more about this on our website on the LOCATION & ARRIVAL page.
When booking your place a deposit € 400,– is due (via Paypal or bank transfer); The balance 40 days before arrival.
If you’re experiencing financial difficulties contact us for individual solutions. Please note that this being an international retreat with very limited space, no refunds are possible once you commit to coming. You may transfer your spot to any other person in case.
The minimum age for retreat participation is 16 years.
Should the trip not be realised due to a low number of participants the amount transferred will of course be refunded in full. The retreat will take place with a minimum of 4 confirmed participants (confirmed at least 6 weeks before the start). Should the retreat not take place you are of course still welcome to come to us – your room is waiting for you 🙂 and there will be ongoing yoga classes!
Benjamin discovered his passion for Yogaon a trip to India in 2011. The start of his journey, and shortly after his first teacher training, was in the Tradition of Sivananda Yoga. After getting to know Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, he found another style to teach and practice.
Benjamin regularly travels to India, especially Mysore, where he gets to study and practice with exceptional teachers like BNS Iyengar, Vijay Kumar, Saraswati Jois and Gregor Maehle. Over the years he also got to explore other styles of Yoga and movement systems.
For years, Yoga, acrobatics and training with bodyweight or weights are part of his daily life.
As a physiotherapist, the health aspect of yoga practice is of particular concern to Benjamin. That is why he incorporates his medical expertise and practical experience from the life of a therapist into his teachings. “Experimental Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga” would be an adequate description of the style that Benjamin primarily teaches today.
Away from regular classes, he specializes in applied anatomy and training science, but also handstands, arm balances and vinyasa, which are offered in trainings and workshops, but also individual coaching.
